After Adele and Amy Winehouse, Katy B is the newest English diva. She studied at the famous BRIT School for the Performing Arts in London, and has had hit songs in Britian. Her musical syle is a mix of dubstep, R&B and UK garage. Katy's second album, Little Red, was Number One in the UK. Can she be successful abroad too?

In the sequel to the 2010 film, Peter Parker continues to juggle with his life at high school and all his responsibilities as Spider-Man. He is happy when his friend Harry Osborne returns, but he soon has to face new enemies Electro and Rhino. Spider-Man realizes that only he can save New York these supervillains.

HALLOWEN

Halloween also called Hallowe'en or All Saints’. It is an annual holiday celebrated on October 31.

It has a Celtic origin, these believed the night of Samhain, October 31, witches and other "forces darkened" go outside them with ghosts of the dead to visit the places where they had lived. Another important thing is we celebrate on October 31 because it is the day before All Saints on November 1.


Some of the important symbols and traditions of Halloween are: the pumpkin, trick or treat, sweets, glass balls, masks, cats, vampires... And games popular for this day are: bobbing for apples and other gifts in a basin of water, without using your hands, or go door to door to collect treats.

Hi Andrea

We’ve been on holiday here in London for a week now and I’ve just met this man, Pol. He’s friendly, cheerful and absolutely gorgeous, and more, I like it. But I'm not sure how he feels about me. I need your advice.

I met him in a park two days ago and he invited me a to watch a game with their friends. Both of us were having a great time and were having a real laugh and then Pol invited me to lunch. When we were there, at times he ignored me, but others times, he flirted with me. But when I said goodbye, we walked to home, he and me, and neither of  could stop us talking. But then he kissed me.

I've been thinking about things a lot since then, I'll probably see him later, but I'm not sure what to do if he asks me out. What do you reckon?

WRITING UNIT 1

Write an account of a decade:

The 2000-2010 was a decade which people remember for many reasons. There were a good times and happy events such as the first black person who arrived to the white house. There were also difficult times, attack on the twin towers in New York or tsunami in the Indian Ocean.

In the world of music, there were a lot of pop artists in the charts, for example Britney Spears, Eminem, Maddona and Michael Jackson. In cinemas, the Impossible, or PS: I love you, were a big hit. Fashions were mainly the skinny trousers, and miniskirts.

But at the end of the decade, the world was a different place. Inventions such as the Facebook and Whatsapp, changed people lived. One of the most memorable events of the 2000-2010 took place: 2001, attack on the twin towers in New York. Three thousand people were death on September 11^th.

MY LAST SUMMER (WRITING)

Hi, my name is Carlota and now I'm talking about my last summer holidays.

First of all I'm going to talk about some days in Estartit, then about my trips in August and finally about how I spent the last days of my holidays.

In the early summer I was training every day in the afternoons until the 5th July because we had a festival. When I finished my trainings I spent a few days in Banyoles but then I went for 3 days to Estartit with my cousins​​.

In August, I stayed in Palamós for 9  days with my family and one friend. In the morning, we went to the beach but not every day was sunny. After lunch, we stayed on the sofa for a nap. And then, in the night, we’re meeting other friends on the beach or in "Platja d'Aro". But some other nights we spent with the family.

The last days of the summer I worked on my school summer homework and read one book.  The book was called "Días de reyes magos" the writer is Emilio Pascual. If you have a chance, read it, I think it has an interesting plot. Some afternoon I took care of my cousins. And the other days I was with my friends.

Well, this summer has been very funny. I have had a good time.
